Lotus - Wil Strijbos
My first ever mechanical puzzle was the Lotus Puzzle by esteemed designer Wil Strijbos. An intriguing and challenging puzzle, the aim is to take what seems like an impossible object and 'find the lotus'. Not only does this puzzle require some disassembly but also falls into the category of a sequential discovery puzzle, meaning that you need to find tools along the way to help you solve the puzzle. 10/10 for ingenuity, design and puzzling.
